The story of Ali Ashfaq's rise to prominence is a captivating one. He made his debut as a 16-year-old in 2001, with his maiden game for the Maldives national team taking place at the tender age of 18 in 2003. His journey began with Club Valencia in the Maldivian domestic league, where he showcased his prodigious talents. At just 18, he scored four goals in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mongolia, a match his team won 12-0, setting the stage for what would be a remarkable career.




Beyond his incredible scoring ability, Ashfaq proved his mettle as a complete player, capable of altering the course of games and even entire tournaments. He was instrumental in Maldives' historic victory in the South Asian Football Federation Championship in 2008, earning the Golden Ball award for his exceptional contributions.

Ashfaq's talents extended beyond the borders of the Maldives, as he enjoyed successful spells in Brunei and Malaysia. He was honored as the best foreign player in Malaysia in 2014 after leading PDRM FA to a league title. Throughout his career, he scored over 400 league goals domestically and accumulated numerous individual and collective accolades, bringing a steady stream of silverware to his teams.
