Dusit Thani Maldives is thrilled to announce the appointment of Khun Jean-Louis Ripoche as the new General Manager, effective from 1st October 2023. With an impressive four decades of experience in the hospitality industry, including a remarkable 25 years in leadership roles at renowned hotels and resorts around the world, Khun Jean-Louis brings a wealth of expertise to the company.
Khun Jean-Louis's journey in the world of hospitality began in 1982 when he started as a Management Trainee at Le Meridien Abu Dhabi, a distinguished property under the Starwood family. From there, he embarked on a stellar career with Starwood, assuming leadership positions at various Le Meridien destinations, including Le Meridien Boston, Le Meridien Kuwait, Le Meridien Phuket, Le Meridien Jakarta, Le Meridien Hotel & Tower Bangkok, and Le Meridien Khao Lak.
His extensive experience also includes serving as the General Manager of Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel & Towers in Tel Aviv, Israel, as well as Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, and W Maldives Retreat & Spa. He has successfully managed the Mövenpick Hotel and Casino Malabata in Tangier, Morocco, and held the role of Cluster General Manager for Kathmandu Marriott and Fairfield Kathmandu by Marriott in Nepal.
Throughout his illustrious career, Khun Jean-Louis consistently delivered outstanding results, making significant contributions to the success of the hotels he managed during operational, pre-opening, and new opening phases. His achievements were centered on driving revenue growth and enhancing guest and employee satisfaction.
Prior to joining Dusit Thani Maldives, Khun Jean-Louis gained valuable experience as the General Manager of Kandima Maldives Resort, where he skillfully oversaw resort operations and adeptly navigated the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. He enriched the guest experience by curating an extensive entertainment program that showcased local culture. Fluent in both French and English, Khun Jean-Louis holds diplomas from the Hotel School of Paris, 'Jean Drouant,' including a Post-Graduate in Restaurant Management and Hotel Operation. Additionally, he possesses professional diplomas and certificates in Classical Cooking from Ferrandi, the School of the Chamber of Commerce Paris.
In his new role, Khun Jean-Louis will report directly to Khun Prateek Kumar, Senior Vice President – Operations. He will be responsible for driving Dusit Thani Maldives' success and ensuring the resort meets its financial and operational objectives.
